Water Trampolines Vs. Bouncers

At this point, you may have seen that there are two different styles of Water Trampolines and deciding between the two may seem difficult. There are a couple of major differences that may help you with what you are looking for. Both are great pieces of equipment, it ultimately comes down to what fits your needs best. Below you will see the differences between a Water Trampoline and a Bouncer.

Water Trampolines

The biggest difference that you will see with a Water Trampolines is the construction and installation of it. This piece of equipment requires more effort to set up because there are a handful of steps that are required. Since this style contains springs, you have to attach it in a specific way, (See FAQ section if you have questions how to do so) along with the anchor system, jump surface, and padding. However, with a little extra work comes a little extra reward. The “Spring” Water Trampolines tend to have a little bit more bounce that will allow you to jump a little bit higher than the “Bouncers.” If you do not care about a little extra time and effort to install but are looking for the highest jump, then go with this style.

Bouncers

Bouncers are known for being easily transportable and simply put/ takedown process. When you buy a bouncer, the jumping surface is already attached to the inflatable ring. So in retrospect, all you need to do is inflate, attach the accessories, and anchor up. It is a simple process that people often appreciate because setting up a Water Trampoline can seem tricky and requires multiple people to set up. Bouncers tend to have a slight difference in Jump Height but it is not crucial. If minimal effort and more fun sound appealing to you, look into Bouncer styles.

FAQ

Are Water Trampolines Safe?

Yes, Water Trampolines are very safe due to the fact that they do not have the same amount of spring as the classic type of land trampoline and is only a few feet above the water. Some models even come with additional padding around the edges. However, with any type of outdoor equipment, safety comes down to how someone uses it with responsibility and not using it properly can result in injury. Overall, this is a safe piece of outdoor equipment.

How Do I Assemble My Water Trampoline?

Assembly a Water Trampoline is easy but can sometimes seem tricky since there are multiple steps. All models are different and may require different steps to assemble. Most of these Water Trampolines have a similar strategy of installing and these instructions are generally the same. If you have a Water “Bouncer,” these steps do not apply to you because they do not require installation and just need to be inflated. However, for a Water Trampoline follow these steps. First off, you will want to take all pieces of the trampoline out and organize neatly so you know where everything is. Next, roll out the tube, it should look like a big “O” or donut, so you can inflate it. Once you have done this, grab your pump and insert it into the valve on the side of the tube most likely underneath a cap. After it is inserted, you will want to rotate it until you feel it lock into place.

Next, inflated to about 80% of the maximum amount. You will then attach the anchor harness to the designated anchor points and also attach the ladder that came in the packaging. You will then pull over the jumping surface, the material that goes in the middle of the ring, and attach two springs to the “W- shaped” corner ring. Continue to add springs from the corner to the center every couple of slots and then fill in after the first round of springs has been placed. Following this step is important because the tension will become too much on one side if you do not equally distribute the tension around the whole ring. Once all of the springs are placed, reinsert the pump back into the valve and inflate until it is 100% inflated. You will know because the tube will feel like a fully inflated basketball. After it is fully inflated, you then attach the padding cover that covers all of the springs. Grab the bungee attachments on the bottom side of the cover pad, insert through the triangle on the spring, and hook onto the spring to the side of it. There should be two hooks total, one that goes to the left and one to the right. Once you have completed this step, you are ready to carry you Water Trampoline to the water and have some fun!

How Do I Repair My Water Trampoline?

Depending on what type of brand you purchased, it is likely that it is under warranty if it was a material defect. If you want to fix it yourself for a minor repair, such as your ring not holding air completely, there are repair kits that are sold for this specific reason. First off, you will want to deflate your tube and make sure that it is clean by using rubbing alcohol around the area of the hole. If you do not have some, water and a little soap will do just fine. There should be glue and a patch in the repair kit. Apply some of the glue to the patch and the area around the hole. You will then allow the glue to dry for approximately 2 minutes. While you wait to grab something with a hard edge (could be an old ID card, and a popsicle stick, etc.) Once 2 minutes is up, the consistency of the glue should have changed and you can then apply the patch to the glued area on the tube. Grab the object with a hard edge, whatever it is you chose, and rub the pieces together.

Can I Use A Water Trampoline On Land?

You could technically use your Water Trampoline on land but it is not recommended. If you use it on land, you will increase your chances of wearing down the material and damaging the tube. The warranty on the trampoline will most likely not cover the damage that can be caused since it covers material defects and not wear and tear. It is advised to only use your trampoline in the water.
