Features and Benefits
Let’s begin with the build of this bad boy. The Intex Seahawk 4 is made from a durable 30-gauge PVC vinyl that is resistant to punctures and abrasions. Not only is PVC vinyl one of the best materials to make an inflatable boat with because of it’s strength, it’s also very resistant to the elements and other chemicals that may come in contact with it. Out in the sun for long periods of time? Trying to hit the saltwater for a bit? Accidentally spilled your beer in the hull? No worry; this boat is a tough cookie!
The 4-person frame is great for fitting small families or a few friends on board. Even with two adults and two children on board, you’ll still have room for a little cooler or a tackle box. If the kids want to go out to explore alone, you won’t have to worry! This boat is just the right size for kids who have never done any paddling before to get the hang of it. There are also two inflatable cushions that come with the Intex Seahawk 4 for a bit of added comfort. Just remember that this boat only holds up to 880lbs, so you’ll have to be cautious about how much weight you add.
The storage capabilities and additional accessories on the Intex Seahawk 4 are minimal but useful. For fishing enthusiasts, the Intex Seahawk 4 comes complete with two fishing rod holder that can be found near the back of the craft. This is really helpful if you take the boat out alone and want to have more than one line cast at a time. For rowing, there are two welded oar locks placed along the sides of the Intex Seahawk 4 that hold your rods safely in place when you’re not rowing.
Transporting the Intex Seahawk 4 is pretty easy considering you can deflate it. At 45lbs, it’s easy to carry down to the water in the box and then inflate using the Boston valves. The inflating process takes around 10 minutes with the high output manual hand pump, so you won’t have to waste much time waiting around. To get it from the shore into the water, the guys at Intex have included an all-around grab line, as well as two grab handles that are located on the bow to make handling the boat a bit easier.
Lastly, the Intex Seahawk 4 comes complete with a few accessories. For starters, they come with two lightweight 48” aluminum oars that are buoyant. This is great, as you won’t become stranded if someone accidentally drops them overboard. It comes with a small gear pouch that is great for cell phones, wallets, and any other items that you don’t want to leave exposed. It also comes with a repair patch. It’s pretty unlikely that you’ll have to use this, as the boat is pretty durable, but we’re happy that the people at Intex think ahead.

Intex SeaHawk 4 Mods
Trolling Motor
Pairing your Intex Seahawk 4 with a trolling motor can make a world of difference in your boating experience. First thing you’ll need to do is purchase an Intex motor mount so you have somewhere to attach your trolling motor to. A great Seahawk 4 motor that we highly recommend is the Intex Trolling Motor. The motor itself is an extremely quiet, battery-operated motor that is incredibly efficient. It has a digital maximize control module built-in, as well as a water cooling system, so that you’re only using the necessary amount of power for the speed you decide to go. There are 5 forward speeds and 3 reverse speeds on the Intex Trolling Motor, as well as an OFF switch.
The motor mod is a very easy one to install, despite what it might look like, and is great for those who are taking longer or more strenuous trips on the water.
Canopy
An Intex Seahawk 4 Canopy can reduce the need for alternative sun protection when out on the water on hot summer days. You won’t have to suffer from long exposure to UV rays or lather on sunscreen every few minutes. These canopies are very easy to fold up and travel with, as well as very easy to install on to your Seahawk 4. It only takes a few minutes to buckle it securely to your inflatable boat so that you can have your own personal awning. When you reach your destination, you can take it off the boat and peg it to the ground for some shade on land as well. These canopies are made to withstand water and sun, just like the boat, so you don’t have to worry about them wearing quickly.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I set my Intex Seahawk 4 Up?
Setting up your Seahawk 4 should really only take less than 15 minutes and it can be done by anyone. Start by finding a flat surface without debris and unroll your boat so that it is flat on the ground. Following the numerical sequence that is located on the valve of the boat, insert the output end of your air pump and begin pumping. Make sure to stick to this pump and never use high-pressure air compressors. Fill each chamber until they are stiff, but not hard. A hard filled chamber means that it is over-inflated. Inflate the seats in the same manner and then simply connect them to the hinges on each end of the boat. You’re now ready to go!
How do I care for my Intex Seahawk 4?
There is not much that you need to worry about in terms of care and maintenance for the Intex Seahawk 4, as it is built with very strong and durable materials. The biggest thing you need to worry about is how and where you store it. It can be stored inflated or deflated, though you should be careful not to put any heavy objects on top of it or sharp objects underneath it. You should also be cautious that if it is in the sun, you should cover it with a tarp. Every time you get back from a boating trip, give it a good fresh water rinse to get any sand, saltwater, or other debris off of it.
What if it gets a hole?
At some point or another, you may get a puncture in your boat. Luckily, the Intex Seahawk 4 comes with a repair patch. First thing you must do is locate the leak and clean the area thoroughly to remove any dirt or grime. Cut your repair patch so that it is .5” larger than the puncture on all sides. Firmly press it down on the boat and wait 30 minutes before inflating again.
Verdict
The Intex Seahawk 4 is a great little inexpensive inflatable boat that makes it easy to get out in the water!
Whether you just want to boat around recreationally or go out for a short fishing trip, the Seahawk 4 will do the job!
